Wondergold Pictures' Summer 2024: Lansing Pride, Harm Reduction, and Small Business Collaborations

Updated: Sep 19, 2024

As the weather begins to cool, we're reflecting a bit on the summer of 2024. We're over here trying to make a small different in our neck of the woods, supporting some awesome clients with photo and video work, and getting more aligned with the values we hold dear.

This summer, we've seen the fruits of the work we've put in start to grow. Here's a bit more to show you what we've been up to.

Brace yourself, I've been busy!

Sponsoring Lansing Pride 2024!

Lansing Pride brought so many people to Mid-Michigan, filling Turner Street. We've never seen Old Town, Lansing so full of well-dressed queer + trans folks! Wondergold Pictures sponsored Lansing Pride for the first time and hopes to continue highlighting organizations that bring LGBTQ+ community together in celebration.

Leveling Up Small Businesses

We're absolutely thrilled to come alongside growing businesses that shape our community and level up their imagery. The process of discovering their style and goals, then turning it into a styled photoshoot we get to collab with our creative team on... what a dream!

Communicating Life-saving Causes

The Ingham County Health Department has a team dedicated to promoting Harm Reduction throughout the region. The work is important, complex, and communicating it well meant time, strategy, and care from all involved. In partnership with Piper & Gold Public Relations, we developed videos that would better connect substance users and their loved ones to Peer Recovery Coaches. If you don't know about PRCs, we'll be sharing more in the coming months as we release some mini-documentaries from those featured in our 30-second ad.

Public speaking, attending seminars, an award nomination?!

There are some things I've been up to personally that I'm excited about.

Pictured below, I spoke for the second time at a digital media summit aimed to help agricultural industry folks learn more about brand promotion, respresentation, and best practices in social media. My role? Showing them a few tips on photo and video capturing, but I didn't leave the room without a bit on media ethics when capturing content.

I was nominated for the Greater Lansing Entrepreneurial Awards and attended their annual event for the first time! This award ceremony has 30 years of history and celebrates businesses in our area that we know and love. I attended with some fellow business owners and felt a bit out a place, but we had a lovely time and it was an honor to celebrate with so many familiar faces around town.

Last but not least, I'm attending more seminars and community events! Also in our gallery below, a presentation on supporting neurodivergent people in the workplace hosted by the Lansing Chamber. While our workplace isn't traditional, and I may be my only neurodivergent employee, we know many creatives on our freelance team are. My hope is to be sure we're informed and have supportive practices in place. This presentation hit on important factors including sensory needs and expanding communication practices. I love knowing our local chamber is bringing HR and businesses together to talk about workplace needs, especially as someone who never fit into those places, so I made my own!
