Updated: May 22, 2024

There are so many various media and mediums for your marketing and communication needs. Here at Wondergold Pictures, our expertise is video creation. We partner with you when you need experts to distill complex ideas into creative, concise, and engaging videos.

You'll have times where you need a copywriter, a social media expert, or just a different approach. Video creation has a time and a place, you can call us to make your video communication effective and good-looking. 💯

Confession: I rarely watch videos for directions or technical help on YouTube. Give me a written, step-by-step list. Not a 3-minute video that I could skim in 5 bullet points. Thank you very much.

Here's a post we did recently on our essential shot list items when you book a photo or video shoot with us: https://www.wondergoldpictures.com/post/our-brand-photo-and-video-shoot-shot-list

This list is here to give you some ideas of when video would be the best medium to fit your communication needs. Here are some times of when we think video makes the most sense!

1. Sharing Emotion-Driven Brand Stories

If you want to connect with your audience and there's a story to be told, we ABSOLUTELY recommend video. There's a certain magic that can happen from hearing and seeing a story told from a real perspective. This builds credibility for your audience and drives emotional connection.

You engage your audience visually, auditorily, and evokes empathy. Your viewers will remember these stories, and it will differentiate you from your competitors.

Two approaches. One client. | When telling brand stories on video, we recommend either of these approaches:

1. Scripted Scripting your video is a great option when you need to keep your messaging concise. Advertising platforms like TV or YouTube work best with short, sweet stories. The opportunity with scripted video is to take complicated ideas and develop concise messaging with strategic visuals.

Below is an example, however, instead of a hired professional, we spoke to the patient directly for a more authentic approach to telling his story.

2. Interview-based

An interview-based approach is a great fit when you want to authentically and expertly tell stories. If you have an engaged audience watching your video, we love to have individuals to speak for themselves. Think about it like this: your target audience is already engaged, ready to learn more, and make a decision.

For the below example, these health care provider profiles were for potential patients who would already be looking to finding a medical provider who would be a good fit, and having those individuals tell their own story made the most sense.

This approach helped to build trust, introduce them to the provider, and gave them their own voice without a heavier-handed creative approach. That might not feel authentic here. For patients, hearing from their potential medical expert before their appointment meant that they could choose someone who aligned with their needs. And know what to expect going in. A photo or an article can't convey this as well as an interview could. Pair it with good b-roll and you really know what to expect at your next doctor's appointment!

2. Communicating Complex Ideas

We are communicators! We take the complicated information, digest it in our bellies and brains, and we translate it into engaging visuals.

When utilizing video for your communication tool, it includes two tactics, both audio and visuals. These work together to engage your audience double-y. Yes, I said DOUBLE-Y. This is a technical term.

But for real, the initial creative development phase is where we are able to understand the problem at hand that could utilize video production as a communication tool. Our job is to partner with you to decide the best approach to get an end video that aligns and engages!

3. Product Demonstration

Your audience needs to see that product in motion. Let's see what kind of movement your new shirt might have, because a still image just doesn't always do it!

How does it work?

How will I look and feel when I purchase from you?

Can I picture myself in this scene, in these shoes, at the restaurant?

When your audience can see it, they can see themselves in it.

4. Advertising Campaigns

Launching a new product? Driving brand recognition? High quality, strategic video production engages.

We want to loop video into your launch strategy! Video can sell not just the product, but the lifestyle and vibe that your brand conveys to them. This is where our styled, elevated approach to video creation comes in. Based on budget, we curate every detail we can. That's why we always say, video is malleable!

We're approaching a new era where user-generated content (UGC) is king. We're offering la carte-style content creation with our video and photo packages. While it's not our main thing, it's a service we want to offer to pair with your elevated, styled video production. You'd get all the raw footage and behind the scenes phone footage to share and connect to your audience on the platforms that demand a more casual approach to video creation.
